Event Overview

BEING A TRUSTED ADVISOR – SAVE THE DATE FOR COMMUNICATORS CHAT & CONNECT IN SEPTEMBER

Knowing how to give leaders advice is one of the most valuable skills for a communicator. When leaders communicate well, it transforms their organisations and it’s our job to help them.

The next PRCA #ChatAndConnect session for employee communicators will take a hard look at what leaders need and how different people give it to them. Your hosts Annabel Dunstan and Liam FitzPatrick will bring together a senior leader, a seasoned in house advisor and an experienced coach to explore what good advice looks like.

And because of the chat show format of our virtual events, we’ll also hear from your peers who have also signed up. What lessons have you learnt and how can we, as a profession, develop our skills?

Guests:

Vickie Sheriff is Director of Communications at Imperial College London and has previously advised leaders in industry, charities and government – including Diageo, Heathrow, Which? and the Department for Transport. As a former Head of News at 10 Downing Street and government comms advisor she has worked for two Prime Ministers and other government Ministers too numerous to count.

Helen Martin’s 30+ year, international career as a head of marketing and communications, has seen her advise executives in Africa, Asia and Europe, in the IT, technology, financial and professional services industries. She supports leaders on their journey of personal discovery by developing and delivering a combination of leadership and management training and one-to-one coaching, to drive transformational change, with an eye on improving the bottom-line. She holds a Master of Science in Coaching and Behavioural Change (Henley Business School, 2018).

Brian Bannister is Global Head of External Communications at the Boston Consulting Group and he’ll be bringing his extensive experience of advising senior leaders in professional services firms around the world. Before joining BCG, he worked with the global CEO and Managing partners at KPMG and before that he’s supported and coached senior leaders at PwC and at the UK Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. We’ll be talking to him about how to give advice to significant business leaders – often at times of great stress. In particular, we’ll be asking what can internal communicators and consultants learn when it comes to helping the C-Suite make good communications choices.

SIGN UP HERE: Thursday 17 September at 5:00 PM UK Time – full sign up details will be published soon and if you email Annabel at annabel@questionandretain.co.uk she’ll include you in the pre-event PulseCheck when we ask for your experiences.
