Overview
This course is designed to give attendees an understanding of the fundamentals of public
relations.

• How to call a journalist – some top tips
An important element of this interactive course is understanding how to turn theory into
practice which we do by using real world examples.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at junior PR practitioners and is suitable for those not currently working
in public relations who want to find out more.
Trainer: Ann-Marie Blake, Chart PR,
Ann-Marie has over 25 years’ experience as a business
communicator. She’s spent most of her career working in large
global firms across several disciplines including PR, marketing,
corporate affairs, media relations, change and internal
communications. She has led in-house teams and runs her own
consultancy, True Communications.
Ann-Marie leads the PRCA’s training on the popular Introduction to
Public Relations and on Strategic PR Planning. She uses
practical real-life examples that bridge the gap between theory and
practice.
Ann-Marie holds Chartered PR Practitioner status She is a founder board member of PRCA
Race Ethnicity and Equity Board and sits on the International Association of Business
Communicators International Executive Board.
