Summary:

In light of the decision to cancel this year’s Cannes Lions, we still wanted to provide an opportunity for the industry to celebrate creativity, and have decided to create our own competition known as the PRCA NextGen Global Creative Challenge.

This will be a global competition, with PRCA UK; PRCA LATAM; PRCA MENA; and PRCA SEA running regional rounds, and with other Associations around the world doing the same via ICCO. Regional winners will then compete against one-another for the global title.

The winner of this year’s UK competition will receive:
• NextGen Global Creative trophy - presented at the PRCA UK National Awards in front of an audience of around 800 people
• 2 Cannes passes for 2021
• The chance to present the winning entry at the PRCA UK National Conference and PRovoke Summit.
• 5 PRCA virtual training courses, each worth over £500.

Once you have paid to register your team, you must email details of your team members to events@prca.org.uk

Event Overview

How the UK Competition Works

A brief will be set by the PRCA's Charity Partner (to be revealed at a later date) who will act as the client, and participating teams will be given 24 hours to create a campaign.

Timeline

The cost to enter is £300+vat per team for PRCA members or £500+vat per team for non-members. The UK competition will take place over an identical timeframe, to other PRCA regions and ICCO associations taking part, but during a working day: Thursday, 9th July, 2020, 10:00 - Friday, 10th July, 2020, 10:00 (24 hours). The brief is provided by a PRCA Charity In-house member. It will be circulated by email at 10:00 on Thursday, 9th July, 2020.

Completed campaigns will need to be emailed back to the PRCA by 10:00 on Friday, 10th July - in the form of a 10 page PowerPoint presentation, a 1 page summary slide and a written submission of no more than 450 words delivered as a Word document. Campaigns will then be judged by a UK Jury.

A shortlist of 6 campaigns will be invited to virtually take part on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2020 to deliver a 5 minute presentation to the Jury, explaining the PR campaign. The format for this section of the competition is open to change, and announcements will be made nearer the time.

The winning team will be notified by Thursday, 23rd July, 2020. This team will then be invited to take part in the global competition hosted by ICCO against winners from other regions. This will take place the following week on 28th - 30th July, 2020. More details can be found here: https://iccopr.com/icco-global-creative-challenge-2020/.

UK Competition Rules

Only two participants from the same consultancy are required to form a team (this equals 1 team), and consultancies are welcome to enter multiple teams. Each participant must be aged 30 years or younger (born after 21st June, 1989).

The winners will be rewarded with:

  • NextGen Global Creative trophy - presented at the PRCA UK National Awards in front of an audience of around 800 people
  • 2 Cannes passes for 2021
  • The chance to present the winning entry at the PRCA UK National Conference and PRovoke Summit.
