Over 40 years’ experience in public sector communications covering media and public relations, crisis and issue management, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, internal communication, publicity, advertising, digital and social media and marketing. Director and Board level operator for local government and emergency service organisations leading teams of up to 80 staff and managing multi-million pound budgets including contract specification and procurement of the full range of creative services. President CIPR 1992, PRCA Founding Fellow, co-chair of the PRCA Qualifications Board and an Assessor for PR apprentices. Awarded the OBE for services to police communication following the London 7/7 bombings. Currently providing communication consultancy services with clients including trade bodies and charities.
