PRCA DARE 2024 South West Not for Profit/Charity Award - Sanctuary Care and Speed Communications

‘See Me’ is a creative and emotive campaign delivered by Speed Communications for nationwide care home provider, Sanctuary Care, addressing key challenges facing the care home sector. This innovative campaign features a docu-series showcasing the fulfilling and opportunity-rich reality of life with Sanctuary Care, aiming to alleviate stigma and boost public confidence in care homes.

By tapping into the vibrant communities that care homes create for the elderly, the campaign highlights Sanctuary Care’s exemplary operational framework and ethos, Enriching Lives. Through emotive storytelling, ‘See Me’ invites the audience into Sanctuary Care homes to witness how they enrich the lives of residents, family members and employees daily.

The game-changing 4-part docu-series, ideated, scripted, produced and edited by the Speed team, challenges perceptions of life in care. The hero film follows a Sanctuary Care resident’s thoughts, reflecting on their life before care and how their story continues in the care home.

To support the campaign, a survey was devised which revealed that for people aged 60 and over, independence is the most important factor for fulfilment in later life. The study also highlighted that less than a third of people over 60 have a clear plan for later life care.

In summary, the campaign shed light on how care homes can be fun, enriching, and a lifeline for many by displaying the incredible teams delivering person-centred care to every individual.
