About Trevor

Trevor Morris is Professor in Public Relations at Richmond University and an author, consultant and non-executive director. In over thirty years in the PR industry he has successfully built and sold a major PR consultancy with margins of over 30%, been the CEO of the UK’s largest PR group, worked for numerous major companies and organisations and written and lectured extensively. Former colleagues range from Lord Tim Bell and David Hill (Tony Blair’s Director of Communications) through to Sophie Rhys- Jones (The Countess of Wessex). He is the co-author of four books: PR- a Persuasive Industry? Spin, Public Relations and the Shaping of the Modern Media, Public Relations for Asia, Public Relations for New Europe and PR Today, all published by Palgrave Macmillan. A Fellow of the PRCA Trevor holds the ‘Mark Mellor Award for Outstanding Contribution to the PR Industry.’ Trevor is also Agony Uncle for the industry bible PRWeek!

Training Theory

"My training is based on a mixture of short presentations, exercises, workshops and discussion. I do not generally use PowerPoint, preferring to encourage two way interaction and note taking by using pre-prepared workbooks."


Trevor's training specialisations are devising and planning strategic PR campaigns, effective presentation and pitching skills, crisis management and the handling of bad news, creating positive news stories and calling journalists, understanding Brands, negotiation skills, PR's role in the media, society and the economy.
